Heath Ledger Plays The Joker In The Dark Night (2008)The new Batman movie The Dark Night has smashed box office records in the United States and Canada. The film took in a massive £77.6 million in its first weekend, breaking the previous record held by last years movie blockbuster Spider-Man 3. This even meant that fans desperate to see the movie paying up to five times the face value for tickets.

With some aspects of the movie being shot in Imax the hottest Imax tickets were going for up to $60 per ticket. The movie also made £20 million in Mexico and £6.55 million in Australia, native land of the late Heath Ledger, who tragicly died due to an accidental drug over dose just as the movie ended filming.

Rumours hit the media that Ledgers death was due to his role as The Joker affecting his mental state. However speaking on GMTV fellow actor Christian Bale who plays Batman in The Dark Night denied such claims. Bale stated that Ledger was first class during filming as far as creating a believeable character however this had no effect on his mental state. Bale also stated that the entire cast and crew dearly miss Ledger and his wonderful company.

Black Stone Cherry - Blind Man

Black Stone Cherry exploded onto the American rock n' roll scene back in 2006 with their self-titled debut album. The album's most sucessful hits included tracks such as 'Lonely Train' which is perhaps the bands most well known track. Other tracks included 'Hell And High Water' and 'Maybe Someday' each full of catchy choruses and violent guitar solo's.

The band, hailing from the depths of Kentucky, United States are made up of four main members. Ben Wells (Guitar/Vocals), John Fred Young (Drums/Vocals), Jon Lawhon (Bass Guitar/Vocals) and Chris Robertson (Guitar/Vocals). Each member contributing to the unique sound that is Black Stone Cherry.

Feeling 24 Hour Sucess

British band The Feeling were set the ultimate challenge last week, to create a music video in only 24 hours. The challenge was set to lead singer Dan Sells and the other four members of the band by Capital Radio in conjuction with Intel.

The song chosen from the bands second album was 'Join With Us'. A song, which already this year received fame due to it's use on british television to advertise the Toyota Auris.
